Will You Gain Too Much Weight?

So here’s the challenge. You know you shouldn’t gain too much weight, but you’re not sure how to keep the pounds in check. This quiz should help you identify problems.

1.         Do you regularly drink sugar-sweetened drinks or more than 1 glass of juice at a time?

2.         Do you regularly eat fried or “junk” food?

3.         Do you use a lot of butter, margarine, salad dressing, sour cream, or cheese or regularly eat the skin on chicken, fat on steak, etc?

4.         When you cook, do you pour more than 1 teaspoon of oil per serving into the pan?

5.         Do you sometimes sit down with a box of crackers or cookies and soon find that you've eaten most of the box?

6.         Do you eat a high-calorie desert three times a week or more?

7.         Do you often eat when you’re bored, depressed, angry, or happy—but not hungry?

8.         Do you usually eat while doing something else, such as reading or watching TV?

9.         Do you consider yourself sedentary—participating in no regular exercise or do you sit down most of the day?

10.     Do you have the mindset of “eating for two?”

If you answered “yes” to four or more questions, your current habits/emotions may cause you to gain too much weight. Keeping an eye on what you eat and how you feel emotionally will help you now—and later, when you are trying to lose your “baby fat.”
